Parshas Shemini: Freedom Through Food

Torah Parallels Parshas   Shemini לעוי   נשמת   האדא   בת   מרדכי Freedom  T hrough  Food At  the end  of  Parshas  Shemini,  following the  Torah  going through  the  hala chos  of  kashrus , the Torah wr ites (11:44-45),  “For I  am H a shem  y our G - d —  you  are t o  sa nctify  yourselves and  you shall become  holy… and you shall not m ake your selves i mpure…  For I am Hashem who brings you u p from  the land of Egypt to be your G - d; you shall be holy, for I am holy.” Rashi notes that the mention of  Yetziyas   Mitzrayim   here is not incidental, but conditional .  Hashem took us out of  Mitzrayim  on the condition that we accept the  mitzvos .
